Meet Dr. Carlin Weaver – Orthodontist in Swampscott, MA

Dr. Carlin Weaver, owner of Weaver Orthodontics, was born and raised in Swampscott, Massachusetts, where she grew up proudly watching her father, the beloved local orthodontist, transform smiles across their community. Hearing classmates say, “Your dad is my orthodontist!” was a constant source of joy and inspiration.

Education & Training: From Psychology to Orthodontics

After graduating from Swampscott High School, Dr. Weaver attended Tulane University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology with a minor in business. After college, she knew she wanted a career centered around working with and helping people — and realized she could do just that through dentistry. Inspired by both her passion for people and her father’s example, she decided to follow in his footsteps. She completed a post-baccalaureate program and earned both her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and orthodontic certification from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.

A Family Legacy of Smiles

Dr. Weaver joined her father, Dr. Buck, in practice in 2015. Since Dr. Buck’s retirement in 2019 (he’s now saving caterpillars and raising butterflies in sunny Key West!), Dr. Weaver has continued his legacy of creating confident smiles and making patients feel truly cared for. One of her greatest joys is meeting new patients whose parents once sat in the same chair, saying, “Your dad did my braces!”

Modern Orthodontic Care with a Personal Touch

Outside the office, Dr. Weaver enjoys weightlifting, practicing meditation, and continually advancing her knowledge through continuing education. She’s proud to incorporate the latest technology into her practice to make orthodontic treatment as efficient, effective, and comfortable as possible — including LightForce customized braces, DentalMonitoring for at-home progress tracking, and clear aligners. Dr. Weaver also has a special interest in airway-focused orthodontics and is passionate about helping children breathe better through a combination of orthodontic care and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

From visiting local kindergartens to teach kids how to brush their teeth to donating holiday gifts to children in need, the team is passionate about giving back and making a positive impact beyond the office.
